Program Motivation

The Smart Supply Chain Management program is led by Prof. Edward Crawley, Prof. Victor Chan, and Prof. Togar M. Simatupang, and taught by a team of tenured, strategically focused, cross-disciplinary faculty who are experts in their fields. Together, they bring cutting-edge research, thought leadership, and experiential learning to your program experience.

Prof. Edward Crawley

Academic Advisor

Prof. Edward Crawley is the Ford Professor of Engineering at MIT. From 2011 to 2016  he served as the founding president of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, Moscow, a new university focused on science and innovation. Prior to that, he served as the Director of the Bernard M. Gordon – MIT Engineering  Leadership Program, an effort to significantly strengthen the quality of engineering leadership education for competitiveness and innovation.

Prof. Victor Chan

Program Co-Director

Wai Kin (Victor) Chan is Professor and Associate Dean of the Tsinghua Shenzhen  International Graduate School and Co-Associate Director of the Tsinghua-Berkeley  Shenzhen Institute, Tsinghua University, China. Prior to joining Tsinghua, he served on the faculty of the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Troy, NY. He received a B.E. degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, an M.E. degree from Tsinghua University,  and a Ph.D. degree from the University of California, Berkeley, respectively.

Prof. Togar M. Simatupang

Program Co-Director

Professor Simatupang holds an engineering degree in Industrial Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and a Ph.D. in Decision Science from Massey University in New Zealand. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Newcastle. He earned an executive certificate at MIT Sloan IDEAS (Innovative, Dynamic, Education and Action for Sustainability).
